Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely bookkeeping services for multiple clients accross a variety of industries. This role supports the firm's accountants and managers by maintaining financial records processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and firm procedures. Key Responsibilities:
Client Bookkeeping and Accounting Services:
- Maintains and update general ledgers for multiple client accounts
- Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Performs bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
- Accurately categorizes bank and account transactions
- Review and resolve the general ledger for “Uncategorized” transactions
- Supports payroll processing and payroll tax filings as needed
- Records daily financial transactions and journal entries
- Performs accounting ‘clean-up’ projects and assists in onboarding new clients
Financial Reporting:
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for client review
- Assists with month-end and year-end close processes
- Identifies and resolves discrepancies and unusual transactions
- Maintains supporting documentation and organizes client files
- Supports tax team by providing accurate financial records and schedules
Client Interaction:
- Communicates with clients regarding missing information or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
- Quickly responds to client questions and requests to meet client satisfaction and support standards.
Firm Responsibilities:
- Assists accountants with audit, tax, and financial statement preparation
- Ensures compliance with firm policies and applicable accounting standards
- Coordinates with team members to ensure individual and firm deadlines are met
- Maintains accurate time tracking and documentation
- Participates in firm training and process improvement initiatives
- Supports the Tax and Accounting Manager with additional workflow as needed
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced QuickBooks certification preferred
Experience:
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm
- Prior experience working in a public accounting firm or professional services firm preferred
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
- Experience handling multiple clients or entities simultaneously
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop) and similar accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Client service mindset; possessing a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
