Experienced Childcare Assistant – In-Home Licensed Program (Part-Time)

We are a licensed in-home early childhood program in Round Rock looking for a dependable, experienced Childcare Assistant to become part of our little school family. Our program is small, structured, and relationship-based, and we hope to find someone who is looking for a long-term position. We are not just hiring for a job, but hoping to welcome someone who wants to grow with us and stay awhile.

We are seeking someone who is familiar with Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Homes and who values compliance, structure, and protecting the strong reputation we have built.

This position will begin at 1 day per week, with the opportunity to grow to 3 to 5 days per week based on proficiency, reliability, and demonstrated ability to independently manage daily routines. As trust and consistency are built, additional days can be added.

We are flexible and happy to work with the right candidate to determine mutually agreed-upon days. We can also adjust hours, when possible, to better fit the employee’s needs while still supporting program operations.

We are seeking someone confident, capable, and experienced who can independently supervise children and maintain structure and safety without direct oversight.

Schedule

• Typical hours: 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM
• Includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break
• Starts at 1 day per week
• Opportunity to grow to 3 to 5 days based on performance and proficiency
• Days are flexible by mutual agreement
• Hours may be adjusted, when possible, to fit employee needs

Responsibilities

• Independently supervise infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children
• Maintain active supervision indoors and outdoors at all times
• Manage daily routines including meals, diapering or toileting, and nap
• Implement structured, play-based learning activities
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
• Follow all licensing and safety standards
• Communicate clearly regarding children’s needs and daily updates
• Manage minor behaviors calmly and appropriately

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year previous daycare or licensed childcare experience REQUIRED
• Familiarity with Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Homes strongly preferred
• Must be confident supervising children independently
• CPR and First Aid certification required prior to start date, or willingness to obtain before first shift
• Must pass background check
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
• Physically able to lift children and actively engage throughout the day

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 – 30.0 per week
