Experienced CNC machine setter + operator

Instrument Plastics is a bespoke manufacturer of display windows for electronic equipment. We are a family run business established in 1987 who are looking to recruit an experienced machine setter and operator to work in our busy machining department. This is a chance to gain hands-on engineering experience working with a variety of CNC routers and laser cutters. It is a fast-paced area of the business which handles an array of projects varying from one-offs to large scale batch sizes.

About the Role

· Learn and understand fabrication and production techniques

· Operate a range of flatbed CNC routers and laser cutting machines

· Manufacture bespoke goods to meet production quality and output levels

· Ensure works orders are signed at all relevant stages of production.

· Comply with all daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance routines

· Maintain a safe and organised working environment by following company procedures and wear appropriate PPE equipment

· Hours Monday – Friday (8.00 am – 4.15 pm)

· Salary dependent on experience

About You

· Good all-round practical skills

· At least a years’ worth of CNC machining experience (or) Apprenticeship equivalent required.

· A positive and self-motivated attitude towards learning new skills and training

· Be comfortable interpreting engineering drawings

· Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative

· Good attention to detail to produce work to the highest standard

· Good communication skills

· Enjoys the challenge of working to set timescales

·BTEC/Degree in engineering or similar would be beneficial
