Experienced Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and clinical procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a patient-focused environment where attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent communication are essential. The successful applicant will be instrumental in providing exceptional dental care while ensuring smooth clinic operations and adherence to all safety protocols.

Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring compliance with infection control standards.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform vital signs measurement and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures and improve patient experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and coding to accurately document treatments
  • Uphold strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant within a general or specialized dental practice preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively; certification in radiography is required.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology
  • Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, along with effective teamwork capabilities.
  • Knowledge of 3D scanners and other advanced imaging technology is a plus but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
