Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experienced Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments with precision and professionalism
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Take high-quality X-rays and medical imaging while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
- Manage medical documentation and records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix
- Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and dental terminology communication to ensure patient comfort and safety
- Conduct infection control procedures following OSHA standards to maintain a sterile environment
- Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating patient information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes
- Utilize 3D scanners and other advanced technology for comprehensive dental assessments in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or pediatrics
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans with enthusiasm and clarity
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with proficiency in dental assisting techniques
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for medical documentation and records management
- Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and effectively while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and insurance billing processes related to dental care
- Competency in using 3D scanners, medical imaging tools, and other digital dentistry technologies
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with dentists, hygienists, front office staff, and patients
- Certification in radiography (X-ray license) required; additional certifications in infection control or pediatric dentistry are a plus
