Experienced Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in a busy and growing dental clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping patients achieve optimal oral health.

Duties

• Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for various dental procedures.
• Take X-rays and imaging as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental software, including medical history and treatment plans.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
• Manage appointment scheduling and confirm patient visits to optimize clinic flow.
• Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Support specialized dental procedures in areas such as Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Cosmetic and Pediatric Dentistry.

Qualifications

• 2 years previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is essential.
• Familiarity with Open Dental software is an advantage.
• Proficient in taking X-rays and understanding radiographic principles.
• Strong understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including children in pediatric dentistry settings.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Must have current XRAY and CPR certification
