D2 Demo & Dirt + Utilities and Rapido Rolloff is hiring a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician to support our growing fleet of excavation equipment, skid steers, and semi/dump trucks.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your work directly affects jobsite performance, safety, and production.

What You’ll Work On
- Excavators (CAT, Deere, Hitachi)
- Skid steers (CAT 299 and similar)
- Dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and semi-trucks (Peterbilt, Kenworth)
- Hydraulic systems, electrical, diesel engines, and general fleet maintenance
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspension components, air brake systems, and HVAC units on heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid checks to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment components for repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
- Support DOT Compliance (DVIRs, inspections, etc.) and maintain accurate service and repair records.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience (7-years minimum) with a strong background in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Dealership experience or equivalent technical training is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, powertrains, air brake systems, HVAC systems, tire service, alignment procedures, and suspension systems.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely with a solid understanding of heavy machinery operation standards.
- Familiarity with OEM parts sourcing and vehicle diagnostics using modern diagnostic tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely during repairs or maintenance tasks; physically capable of performing heavy lifting duties regularly.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interactions.
Pay & Benefits
- $35 – $45 per hour (based on experience)
