Experienced GM Technician - Woodland Motors

Job Summary

Requires previous experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles across all GM brands, including Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac. This role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, proficiency with GM diagnostic tools, and the ability to efficiently troubleshoot complex issues. The Experienced GM Technician will perform repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electronic components while ensuring quality workmanship and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using GM diagnostic tools and software
  • Complete repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking, HVAC, and electrical systems
  • Interpret and apply technical service bulletins (TSBs), wiring diagrams, and service manuals
  • Test-drive vehicles to verify concerns and ensure repairs are completed successfully
  • Maintain accurate and detailed repair orders, documenting diagnostics, parts, and labor
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members regarding repair status and recommendations
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, dealership policies, and manufacturer standards
  • Stay up to date with GM training, certifications, and evolving automotive technologies
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • PRIOR GM TECHNICIAN EXPERIENCE
  • Strong knowledge of vehicles across GM brands
  • ASE certifications preferred; GM-specific certifications are a plus
  • Proficiency with GM diagnostic tools, software, and scan tools
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently
  • Experience with engines, transmissions, drivability, and electrical systems
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and working in tight spaces
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with service advisors and team members

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
