Experienced Handyman – Residential & Commercial Properties

We are looking for a skilled, dependable handyman to join our team and take ownership of ongoing maintenance and improvement projects across multiple properties — including two commercial workspaces, a detached garage, and a private residence. This position starts at 20–30 hours per week with strong potential to grow into full-time as projects develop. The right candidate will be self-directed, take pride in quality craftsmanship, and be comfortable moving between different types of jobs week to week.

Work Locations

• A 5,000 sq ft commercial workspace (rented)
• A second 5,000 sq ft commercial space with a detached private garage (owned)
• A private residential property with a significant backlog of improvement projects

ResponsibilitiesResidential Projects (Primary Near-Term Focus)

• Full deck demolition and new deck construction
• Exterior siding assessment — paint prep and full repaint or siding replacement as determined
• Kitchen and dining area floor tile installation (replacing existing laminate)
• Wall repair throughout the entire home — spackling, skim coating, sanding, and repainting
• Bathroom upgrades including ventilation fan installation, lighting relocation, drop ceiling removal and drywall replacement, and removal of panel walls with drywall finish and paint
• Planting and establishing hedgerows along multiple fence lines (grounds/landscaping)

Commercial & General Property Work

• Painting interior and exterior surfaces
• Drop ceiling installation and repair
• Floor sealing and treatment
• Door replacement and hardware installation
• Grounds maintenance and general upkeep
• General repairs and maintenance as needed across all properties

About the Pay Range

$20–$22/hour — Solid for someone earlier in their career or a methodical worker with solid hands-on experience across multiple trades. Comfortable working independently with good general skills across most of the tasks listed. Quality matters more than speed.

$23–$25/hour — For the candidate with a broad, well-rounded skill set and demonstrated experience across all or most of the tasks listed — tile work, drywall finishing, deck construction, painting, and landscaping. If you’ve done it all and done it well, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on handyman or general trades experience
• Ability to work independently and manage your own time across multiple properties
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ownership of basic hand tools
• Ability to perform physical work — lifting, bending, working at heights, outdoor work in varied weather
• Strong attention to detail and pride in finished work quality

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with deck construction and demolition
• Tile installation and drywall finishing experience
• Landscaping or grounds experience
• Familiarity with bathroom ventilation and basic electrical (light fixture relocation)
• Truck or van (helpful but not required)
