1. Position Summary

The Senior HVAC Technician at GeauxHVAC is more than just a technician — this role is for someone ready to lead in the field, solve complex HVAC problems independently, and help drive our company’s reputation for elite service. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on HVAC experience (7+ preferred), strong customer communication, and the ability to manage a service van like it’s your own operation.

This position is designed for professionals who want to grow into leadership roles, including Field Supervisor and eventually Operations Manager, while being a key part of a company that genuinely C.A.R.E.s for its people.

2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems with speed and accuracy
• Perform high-quality installations of HVAC units, ductwork, and ventilation systems
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and business clients to explain services and solutions
• Uphold GeauxHVAC’s C.A.R.E. values (Courageous, Ascend, Reliable, Efficient) in every job
• Mentor and guide junior technicians and apprentices to elevate team performance
• Maintain safety and compliance with EPA, NATE, and local HVAC standards
• Complete job records, pricing estimates, and system evaluations using Housecall Pro
• Participate in rotating on-call shifts, including some weekends and holidays

3. Key Tasks / Daily Activities

• Review and execute daily service calls, installs, and follow-ups
• Perform advanced diagnostics and recommend long-term solutions
• Provide detailed customer education and system explanations
• Identify opportunities to add value through maintenance plans, upgrades, or warranty options
• Document work clearly, including before/after photos and task code updates
• Monitor truck inventory and restock proactively
• Deliver clean, professional work and maintain organized job sites

• Callback Rate: <5%
• Average Revenue Per Call: Based on comfort solutions and added value
• Customer Satisfaction Rating: Minimum 4.8 stars on verified platforms
• Comfort Club Sign-Ups: Regularly educating and enrolling customers in our maintenance program
• Billed Hours: Consistently hitting target hours based on completed tasks

5. Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 5 years hands-on HVAC experience (7+ strongly preferred)
• EPA Universal Certification (Required)
• Proven ability to troubleshoot systems without supervision
• Professional demeanor and clean appearance
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening with no hits
• Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoors in all weather conditions

• Prior experience mentoring or training junior techs
• NATE Certification or equivalent technical credential (Preferred)
• Technologically Knowledgeable
• Light commercial service experience
• Previous roles in service

7. Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces
• Prolonged standing, kneeling, and lifting required
• Comfortable with heat, cold, and humid Louisiana environments
• Working around dust, insulation, refrigerants, and power tools

8. Work Environment and Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (overtime or on-call shifts required)
• Service locations across Ascension Parish, Baton Rouge, Prairieville, and nearby areas
• Company vehicle provided for job-related travel
• Shop reporting or job-site direct dispatch depending on workload

9. Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly Pay: $25–$45/hr based on experience, certifications, and performance
