We are seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and Christ-centered individual to join our Day School team as a lead teacher for children ages 6 months-5 years. The ideal candidate will provide a loving, faith based environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, academically and spiritually in accordance with Christian values and Texas Childcare Minimum Standards.
Candidate must agree with and model the mission, values and Christian statement of faith of Grace Point Day School.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement daily age appropriate curriculum that integrates biblical teachings, Christian music, stories and prayer.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom that fosters learning through structured routines, play-based learning, and positive reinforcement.
- Promote spiritual development through modeling Christ-like behavior and instilling biblical principles.
- Supervise children at all times, ensuring their health, safety and emotional well-being.
- Observe and assess children's developmental milestones and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents and staff; participate in parent-teacher meetings as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the classroom according to state safety and health guidelines.
- Attend regular staff meetings, trainings and devotionals.
- Uphold Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Regulation requirements for early childhood educators.
Work Environment:
- School Hours - 8:30am - 3:30pm; Work Hours - 8:15am-3:45pm.
- Year round child care following NISD holidays.
- Indoor classroom and outdoor play setting.
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs, bend squat and engage at the child's level.
- Must be able to respond quickly to children's needs and emergencies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must pass DFPS background and FBI Fingerprint checks and meet all state licensing requirements.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with young children in a Licensed childcare or church based setting.
- ProCare Communication Application knowledge is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development and classroom management.
- Completion of pre-service training (if needed) and annual 24 hours of ongoing training per Texas Minimum Standards.
- Complete abuse/neglect recognition and reporting training.
- Current CPR/FA Certification is a plus or willing to do so upon hire .
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.50 - $16.50 per hour
