Experienced Intermodal Dispatch

Key Responsibilities:

• Scheduling and Dispatching:Assigning loads to drivers, coordinating pickup and delivery times, and managing the overall schedule of shipments.
• Communication:Maintaining regular contact with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure smooth operations.
• Logistics Management:Optimizing routes, managing equipment availability, and ensuring efficient movement of freight from origin to destination.
• Record Keeping:Maintaining accurate logs of dispatch activities, shipment details, driver information, and other relevant data.
• Compliance:Ensuring adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and other relevant transportation rules.
• Problem Solving:Addressing delays, resolving issues with shipments, and finding solutions to unexpected challenges.
• Customer Service:Providing support to customers, answering inquiries, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Effectively communicating with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Organizational Skills: Managing multiple tasks, prioritizing workloads, and maintaining accurate records.

• Knowledge of Transportation Regulations: Understanding DOT regulations, safety rules, and other relevant guidelines.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience (3 years) in intermodal dispatching or a related transportation coordination role.
• Proficient in using transportation management software and other relevant tools.
• Strong geographical knowledge and the ability to read maps and understand transportation routes.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and adapt to dynamic situations.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Flexibility in working hours, including the potential for occasional night shifts or weekend duties.
• A commitment to customer service and a proactive approach to customer satisfaction.
