We’re Bloom Kitchens, a female-owned and operated design/build company specializing in kitchen and bath remodels along with flooring, fireplaces, staircases, interior painting, custom carpentry and more. We believe in renewal - both in the spaces we transform and in the relationships we build with our clients. Our all-women team brings together creativity, craftsmanship, and heart. Bloom is a thriving company, one of largest design/builds in the North Denver area. We provide ongoing education, community and a high level of support for our design team. We currently have a team of four designers and one design assistant. We are looking to hire another experienced designer with a background and love for kitchen and bath design.

Senior Designer Job Description:

Senior Designers are responsible for leading the design experience at Bloom from concept through completion, ensuring each project reflects both the client’s vision and Bloom’s standard of excellence. This role requires a high level of design expertise, client leadership, and collaboration with internal teams.

Senior Designers play a key role in shaping the client journey. While the highest level of involvement is during the design phase, Senior Designers continue to support projects through construction with our internal Project Management Team.

Senior Designers are 1099 Independent Contractors and report to the Lead Designer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Experience & Design Leadership:

  • Lead clients through the full design process from initial concept through final selections and project handoff
  • Translate client needs, lifestyle, and aesthetic into cohesive, functional design solutions
  • Design within a wide range of project scopes and budgets (mid-range to luxe) while maintaining Bloom’s quality standards
  • Prepare and present design concepts, renderings, and material selections
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding decisions with confidence and clarity
  • Maintain a high level of communication and relationship-building throughout the project lifecycle

Design Execution:

  • Create detailed design plans, renderings, and specifications for kitchens, baths, and other interior spaces
  • Develop and manage design presentations, material selections, and documentation
  • Ensure all design elements are accurate, cohesive, and aligned with project scope and budget
  • Utilize design software (Chief Architect preferred but others may be acceptable) to produce plans and visuals
  • Collaborate with vendors and trade partners to source materials and confirm feasibility

Project Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with the internal Project Management Team to ensure seamless transition from design to build
  • Support project teams throughout construction, answering design questions and resolving issues as they arise
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to overall project success
  • Ensure alignment between design intent and execution in the field
  • Attend two design team meetings per month at the Bloom Office

Documentation & Process Adherence:

  • Adhere to BLOOM’s timelines, reporting, documentation, and organizational systems
  • Maintain accurate and thorough project documentation, including design files, selections, scope details, and conversations with the client.
  • Ensure clarity and consistency for internal teams and onsite execution
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Kitchen and Bath Design experience and education required
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
  • Strong professional portfolio demonstrating kitchen and bath design expertise
  • Proven experience leading residential design projects from concept to completion
  • High level of proficiency in space planning, material selection, and design detailing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Chief Architect (preferred)
  • Experience working in a design/build environment
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and project lifecycle
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Slack
  • Buildertrend experience (preferred, not required)

SALARY AND SCHEDULE

  • Paid a flat fee per project - typically $4,000 - $10,000 depending on scope (paid in installments throughout the project). Yearly wage is dependent on the designer's capacity and project load.
  • Monday - Friday as needed for project (sporadic communication with clients and subcontractors on weekends as needed)
