Duties

• Assist providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
• Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to support diagnostic processes.
• Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
• Support physicians with clinical tasks such as medication administration, procedures, explaining to patients what our diagnostic processes are.
• Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by updating patient information, ICD coding for diagnoses, and documenting treatment plans.
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, scheduling follow-ups, and ensuring a positive experience in outpatient or inpatient settings.
• Team work and clinical tasks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics; Level I/II trauma center experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
• Hands-on experience with EHR systems and proficiency in documentation standards.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or OR experience are a plus.
• Familiarity with out patient care procedures across various specialties including geriatrics and Cardiology.
• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in clinical settings.
