Duties
- Scribe patient encounters in real-time using EHR (eClinicalWorks preferred)
- Accurately document HPI, ROS, assessments, and procedure notes
- Prepare patient charts in advance (review history, imaging, medications)
- Room patients efficiently while maintaining workflow pace
- Obtain and document accurate patient vitals (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, etc.)
- Assist providers with in-office procedures and injections
- Update EHR with medications, orders, and treatment plans
- Perform medication reconciliation and pain assessments
- Identify blood thinners and obtain appropriate medical clearances
- Coordinate labs, imaging (MRIs, EMGs), and prior authorizations
- Maintain compliance with controlled substances and documentation protocols
- Communicate effectively with providers, staff, and patients
- Support a high-volume schedule without delays or errors
- Accurately transcribe physician-patient interactions during medical examinations, procedures, and consultations using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Document detailed medical histories, physical exam findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions with clarity and precision.
- Assist healthcare providers by preparing medical documentation promptly to facilitate efficient patient flow.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and institutional policies.
- Utilize strong typing skills to capture notes swiftly without compromising accuracy during busy clinical sessions.
- Support the clinical team by verifying the completeness and correctness of documentation related to physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Collaborate with medical staff to improve documentation workflows and ensure seamless communication across departments.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of Medical Assistant experience (REQUIRED)
- Minimum 2+ years of scribing experience (REQUIRED)
- Must be proficient in accurately obtaining and documenting patient vitals
- Experience in specialty or procedure-based practice (preferred)
- Strong proficiency with EHR systems (eClinicalWorks highly preferred)
- Ability to type quickly and accurately during patient visits
- Strong multitasking and time-management skills
- Knowledge of:
- Blood thinners and clearance protocols
- Controlled substance workflows
- Clinical procedures and medical terminology
- Must be fast, efficient, and detail-oriented
- Professional communication and team collaboration required
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or as a Medical Scribe is required.
- Proficiency with EMR or EHR systems for efficient charting and record management.
- Strong transcription skills with an ability to accurately convert spoken words into written records in real-time.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and common clinical procedures.
- Experience working in emergency room environments is a plus, demonstrating ability to handle fast-paced situations.
- Familiarity with medical records management and maintaining confidentiality standards.
- Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute to support rapid documentation needs. Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
