Experienced Medical Assistant – Procedure Days (Vascular Preferred)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Experienced Medical Assistant to join our team during procedure days, with a preference for vascular experience. In this vital role, you will support clinical operations by preparing patients, assisting healthcare providers during procedures, and ensuring smooth workflow in a fast-paced outpatient or inpatient setting. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining compliance with medical standards and safety protocols. Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms and assist with setting up for vascular or other specialized procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready.
  • Greet patients warmly, verify their identity, and obtain or update medical histories as part of the intake process.
  • Measure and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, documenting findings in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Support healthcare providers during procedures by handing instruments, managing specimen collection, and monitoring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Assist with patient education regarding procedures, post-care instructions, medication administration, and follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain clinical documentation with precision, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, including sterilization of equipment and proper disposal of biohazard materials.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, or similar healthcare environments.
  • Knowledge of dermatology, urgent care protocols, hospital medicine practices, and emergency medicine procedures is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation of patient information and clinical notes.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray or medication administration are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and vital signs assessment.
  • Experience working in inpatient settings such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures or assist in surgical settings like the OR is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and internal medicine patients.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
