Job Description
SMP Welding is seeking an experienced Millwright. Candidate must have the ability to travel. Must be able to organize tasks and workflow for efficient, on-time project completion.
Millwright Duties/Responsibilities:
- Make connections and aligning holes for bolted connections
- Use proper rigging techniques to lift steel efficiency and safely
- Use proper crane signals to safely maneuver steel on site
- Be certified to run equipment such as personnel lifts and all terrain fork lifts
- Welding capabilities and certifications preferred.
- Mechanical ability a must.
- Mix of local work and work requiring travel.
- Follow proper safety protocol - Must be extremely safety oriented
- Ensure quality craftsmanship on every job
- Represent SMP in a positive and professional manner
- Maintain company-issued vehicle. Will need to keep vehicle clean and orderly to represent company positively. Responsible for keeping tools in order and accounted for, requesting additional or replacement goods when needed.
- Responsible for all company-issued equipment.
- Be innovative when working on projects and always be prepared to think of new ways to become more efficient.
- Work at heights efficiently either on the steel directly or from a lift
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years or millwright experience.
- Should be customer-service oriented and show commitment to the job. This will be demonstrated by appearance, tools and personal pride in work performed
Must have clean driving records due to driving company vehicle.
Must pass random drug test.
Must pass criminal background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
