We are currently seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Paralegal to join our team.
The Ideal Candidate:
You are a self-starter who can independently manage a litigation file from intake through trial preparation. You are proactive, understand the litigation process, and don’t require step-by-step instructions to keep a case moving forward. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take initiative and are driven by the desire to see each case through to the best possible outcome for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- File Ownership: Take full responsibility for managing litigation files, with minimal supervision. Understand the big picture and how to drive a case forward.
- Case Management: Maintain well-organized case files, ensuring all documents, discovery, and communications are accurately filed and up to date.
- Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients—gather information, provide case updates, and explain the legal process clearly and compassionately.
- Discovery & Litigation Support: Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery demands/responses, and other litigation documents.
- Court Filings: Prepare and E-file legal documents in compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Trial Preparation: Assist with preparing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and supporting attorneys before and during trial.
- Attorney Support: Provide legal and administrative support to attorneys during all phases of litigation.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm (required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of Smart Advocate or similar legal software (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Spanish fluency (preferred)
- Professional demeanor with a strong sense of initiative
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: $65,000 - $85,000/year (commensurate with experience)
