We are looking for an experienced Patent Paralegal to join our STEM Practice Group in the New York office. Our work focuses on a wide variety of technologies, including medical devices, computer software and hardware, AI, automotive, and telecommunications. In this role, you will support attorneys in their practice by assisting with patent prosecution and associated paperwork, communications, and docketing. This is a hybrid position; you will work from our midtown office at least three days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff in preparing legal documents.
  • Draft and file patent documents and forms with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Correspond with clients and foreign associates regarding patent applications.
  • Manage, organize, and maintain files for multiple ongoing matters.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive materials.
  • Track, calendar, and maintain docket deadlines for multiple patent portfolios.

Job Expectations

  • A two-year or four-year undergraduate degree; a Paralegal Certificate is a plus.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a patent paralegal.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Willingness and ability to accept changing assignments and priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Suite tools, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
