Experienced Pediatric Medical Assistant - 5+ years Experience

We are searching for a full-time, highly experienced Pediatric Medical Assistant with minimum 5 years experience in general pediatrics to work with our dynamic and energetic staff. The ideal medical assistant candidate will need to work both independently and as part of a team and will be responsible for front desk and back office tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting/checking in patients, verifying insurances, taking vital signs, rooming patients, conducting point of care tests, administering vaccines, etc. The medical assistant candidate we're looking for has 5+ years experience working in a general pediatric setting, enjoys working with kids, has excellent organizational and leadership skills, is capable of thinking quickly on their feet, is friendly, hardworking, detail oriented and dependable. Experience working as a lead responsible for oversight and training of other Medical Assistants is a plus. Pay will be commensurate with experience in working in a pediatric clinic. Please note, this position may include three north county locations, Del Mar, Carmel Valley, and 4S Ranch.

Responsibilities of a Pediatric Medical Assistant:

• Greet and check in patients and their families upon arrival.
• Verify insurance eligibility and communicate with billing department as needed
• Schedule patient appointments and gather information (symptoms, medical history)
• Answer phone calls
• Record vital signs, allergies, and other information on patient records.
• Rooming patients
• Ensure office flow is running smoothly and efficient
• Administer tests or vaccines that are ordered by the physician.
• Communicate patient information to physician.
• Accurately document patient visit history in EMR system
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Experience:
