Job Summary:

We are looking for a time-served Plater/Welder with experience in fabricating structural steelwork to a high standard of accuracy. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural steel fabrication and the ability to work from engineering drawings. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to join a busy, growing company with opportunities for overtime and immediate starts available.

The ideal candidate will also have a strong structural steel background.

Due to our current programme, interviews are to be held asap with immediate starts available.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabrication and Welding:

• Fabricate structural steel components from detailed engineering drawings with precision and accuracy.
• Perform high-quality welding tasks (MIG) on various structural steel projects.
• Ensure all work meets the required safety standards and specifications.
• Work with a variety of tools and machinery to complete fabrication tasks.

Quality Control:

• Check and verify dimensions and tolerances of fabricated components.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards before delivery.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and project managers regarding job progress and any challenges encountered.

Health & Safety:

• Adhere to all company and industry health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Use appropriate protective equipment and follow safe working practices when using machinery and tools.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Plater/Welder, particularly in structural steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Strong background in structural steelwork.
• Relevant welding certifications (required to present at the interview stage).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
• Flexibility to work overtime as required.
• Immediate availability is preferred due to current project demands.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.00-£16.50 per hour
