Experienced / Senior Accountant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will hold a professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA, with over 5 years of relevant experience, including at least one year of experience working in the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reports. A strong understanding of the Wage Protection System (WPS) and UAE VAT laws is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
• Manage tax compliance and liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations.
• Handle financial reporting and analysis to support management decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT laws, including accurate VAT filing and reporting.
• Oversee the implementation and management of the Wage Protection System (WPS) to ensure timely and accurate salary payments.
• Provide financial advice and guidance to management and other departments.
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial data and ensure secure storage of financial records.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 1 year of experience in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge and experience with the Wage Protection System (WPS).
• In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT laws and regulations, with hands-on experience in VAT filing, Corporate Tax and reporting.
• Experience in handling internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating with auditors, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
