Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and relay orders promptly to kitchen staff
- Provide detailed descriptions of menu items, including daily specials and wine pairings, to enhance guest experience through upselling techniques
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Manage guest relations by addressing questions, resolving issues swiftly, and ensuring overall satisfaction throughout their visit
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and perform basic math calculations for bills and tips
- Maintain sanitation standards by adhering to food safety protocols, proper food handling procedures, and restaurant sanitation guidelines
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale venues
- Strong knowledge of POS systems like Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for reservations management
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that fosters guest loyalty
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively
- Culinary experience or kitchen knowledge that supports food preparation and service excellence
- Upselling skills to maximize sales opportunities while enhancing the guest experience
- Familiarity with food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in bussing tables, host/hostess duties, or guest services roles is highly valued
- Basic math skills for cash handling and bill calculations; proficiency in cashiering is a plus
- Strong communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with kitchen staff and team members
