Experienced Steel Fabricator

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Steel Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in metal fabrication of gates, railings, balustrades, staircases, mainly architectural metalwork with a focus on delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to utilise specialised skills in MIG welding, The successful applicant will be committed to safety standards and possess a keen eye for detail to ensure all projects meet specifications and quality expectations.

Duties

• Perform MIG welding and on architectural steelwork projects. Factory based.
• Fabricate metalwork and parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Use knowledge to troubleshoot fabrication issues so ensure fabrication is correct to specification.
• Measure, mark out with precision, applying basic maths skills for accurate calculations
• Operate various fabrication machinery and tools efficiently while maintaining safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Steel Fabricator or similar role especially with architectural steel with a focus on MIG welding
• Proficiency in welding techniques specific to general standards and regulations
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery effectively
• Strong understanding of fabrication, assembly processes, and mechanical principles
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications accurately
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and layout work
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to metal fabrication environments
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot issues promptly
• Prior experience working with various materials including steel and metalwork projects is highly desirable
