We are a growing, California-based CPA firm (offices in San Jose, Rocklin, South San Francisco) specializing in tax compliance, tax planning, and business advisory services for high‑net‑worth individuals as well as closely held businesses and Trusts.

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager / Sr. Manager to lead client engagements, prepare / review complex returns, and mentor staff in a fast‑paced but supportive public accounting environment. You will primarily work with high net-worth individuals, S‑corporation, partnership, C‑corporation, and trust tax returns, along with proactive planning for clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of business and individual tax clients, serving as primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
- Review complex federal and multi‑state returns (i.e. - Forms 1040, 1120, 1120‑S, 1065, 1041).
- Lead tax planning engagements.
- Research and resolve complex tax issues; communicate findings clearly to clients and team members.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff; provide clear review comments and help them develop technically and professionally.
- Participate in process improvements, technology adoption, and firm initiatives to increase efficiency and client service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in public accounting with a strong background in tax preparation, planning, and compliance.
- Experience with specialized areas such as equity compensation (options, RSU's, ESPP), real estate investors, estate planning.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Effective communication skills for client communication.
- CPA certification preferred.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
