EXPERIENCED TAX PREPARER & ACCOUNTANT

The Experienced Tax Preparer & Accountant at Hara Chaudhuri CPAs PC will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax filings for a diverse portfolio of clients. This position involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, providing strategic tax planning advice, and identifying opportunities for tax savings. The primary tax software used is Lacerte. The position also requires knowledge and experience in accounting and preparation of financial statements using programs such as Quickbooks and Excel. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with clients to understand their financial situations and offer tailored solutions that align with their goals. Additionally, this role requires staying updated on tax laws, acccounting rules and regulations to ensure that all practices are compliant and beneficial for clients. Ultimately, the position will contribute to the firm's reputation for excellence and reliability in tax services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or EA certification or equivalent professional designation.
  • Knowledge of US Tax Law and California Tax Law.
  • Strong Email and Verbal Communication skills.
  • Willing to work 40 to 50 hours a week during normal weeks, 45 to 60 hours a week during heavier periods including tax season. Willing to work Saturdays as needed.
  • Experience with Lacerte Tax Software.
  • Experience with Quickbooks.
  • Inquisitive and passionate about tax and accounting and is looking for a long term career with a growing firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tax returns, and also review and analyze tax returns prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies to clients, helping them minimize liabilities and maximize savings.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to stay informed about changes that may impact clients.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on tax-related matters to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review GAAP financial statements monthly, quarterly, annually
  • Be able to conduct special projects such as compilations, review engagements, tax provisions, etc.
  • Mentor and train junior accountants, fostering a collaborative and educational environment within the team.

Benefits:

  • Total annual pay per above includes bonus pay between $1,000 and $10,000 based on individual performance. Additional bonus pay is possible based on company performance.
