The Academy FL is an accredited, non-traditional school specializing in discovering and cultivating the GREATNESS in children with Dyslexia, ADHD and Non-Traditional Learners. Our school is an affiliate of The Academy Way Network of Schools. We are a growing and unique private school! We are currently seeking a full-time Teacher's Aid.

Teacher’s Aide – Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher in delivering daily instruction and classroom activities
• Assist individual students and small groups with academic tasks and skill practice
• Reinforce lessons using multi-sensory and hands-on learning strategies
• Help students stay engaged, organized, and on task throughout the school day
• Provide positive behavioral support and supervision in the classroom and during transitions
• Prepare instructional materials, learning tools, and classroom resources
• Assist with classroom organization and maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment
• Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the teacher
• Support students with learning differences by following individualized plans and accommodations
• Supervise students during lunch, breaks, arrival, and dismissal as needed
• Assist with basic clerical tasks such as copying, filing, and organizing student work
• Assisting in keeping the school organized and clean
• Help all students with transitions to next classes and virtual settings
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support a positive school culture
• Assist with virtual or blended learning activities
• Support students with executive functioning skills such as organization, time management
• Help set up school and take down on a daily basis

You must be flexible, passionate and have a deep understanding of students who learn differently. We need a go getter, who can work with little supervision and a ton of support from our school leader and other staff members. You should be an out of the box thinker and not bring a traditional approach to learning.

We currently serve students in 2nd - 10th grade. We are located in Port St. Lucie Christian Church but will be relocating in the same area for the 26-27 school year.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that fosters the academic and social-emotional development of students. This role requires a strong commitment to student success and the ability to adapt to meet diverse learning needs.

We are hiring 1 aid with a start date of January 12, 2026.

Qualifications

• You must be a kid-loving person first and foremost. This is REQUIRED!!!!
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Preference given to applicants who possess Some College or Postsecondary Coursework
• At least 2 years experience working with kids
• Must be able to provide professional references

Pay: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
