Overview
We are seeking an experienced, professional and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This is a key client-facing role within our clinic, requiring excellent communication skills, attention to detail and prior experience in a veterinary environment.
Duties
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs with efficiency and friendliness
- Managing appointment scheduling and maintaining accurate records
- Handling phone and email inquiries efficiently
- Processing payments and maintaining billing records
- Coordinate communication between clients and veterinary staff regarding pet care instructions, follow-up appointments, and treatment plans
- Maintaining a clean and organized reception area
- Assist with clinic cleaning duties
Experience
- Proven experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a similar animal care administrative role
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques including dog handling, animal restraint, and general pet care practices
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology
- Prior exposure to animal husbandry, laboratory work related to veterinary medicine, or animal anatomy knowledge will be highly valued
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Avimark veterinary practice management software
