Role Purpose: The Expert in Observer Coordination is responsible for managing and facilitating the presence, integration, and supervision of external observers, researchers, and affiliated institutions participating in archaeological and heritage fieldwork.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the scheduling, orientation, and supervision of national and international observers at field and heritage sites.
- Act as the primary liaison between Qatar Museums and external academic institutions, partners, and research observers.
- Ensure observers are familiarized with field protocols, safety measures, and code of conduct before participating in on-site activities.
- Monitor observer activities to ensure alignment with project guidelines and protect the integrity of archaeological work.
- Facilitate required permissions, documentation, and reporting for visiting observers and researchers.
- Maintain comprehensive records of observer involvement and evaluations.
- Support capacity-building initiatives and knowledge exchange between observers and local teams.
