Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for 5th grade humanities, including literacy education, math, social studies, and science.
- Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing preparation and tutoring sessions.
- Provide individualized support and mentoring to students with diverse needs, including those with autism or requiring early intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and integrating library services to enrich the learning experience.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student progress, behavioral concerns, and upcoming assessments or projects.
Requirements
- Proven classroom experience working with elementary students in a private school or similar educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and special education needs.
- Demonstrated skills in proofreading, writing skills, and curriculum development to ensure accurate and engaging instructional materials.
- Experience with teaching physical education or integrating movement into lessons is a plus.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools and educational software to support instruction and student engagement.
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering a positive learning environment that promotes literacy education, math mastery, and social-emotional growth. Pay: $55,000.00 - $82,500.00 per year
