Summary:

The Export & Operations Planner is responsible for coordinating and executing the movement of finished products and ISO tank assets to international destinations outside Canada. The role oversees export operations, depot inventory, customs documentation, and ISO container fleet management to ensure timely, compliant, and efficient product flow. Operating independently with minimal supervision, the Planner collaborates closely with manufacturing, sales, procurement, depot partners, logistics providers, and the Eastern Hemisphere supply chain organization to meet customer demand and support continuous improvement across export and depot operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate end to end export activities for finished products and equipment, ensuring shipments meet regulatory, documentation, and customer requirements.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between U.S. manufacturing, sales, procurement, and the Eastern Hemisphere supply chain teams to support export volumes, equipment needs, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Manage movements of ISO tanks and product via truck between plants, depots, and ports, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient transportation.
  • Prepare, maintain, and audit all required export shipping instructions, customs documentation, and compliance records in alignment with Export Compliance Guidelines and LSPI document retention standards.
  • Monitor finished product inventory levels and ISO stored product at North American depots, completing routine reconciliations to ensure accurate stock visibility and support international customer demand.
  • Oversee LSPI’s ISO container fleet by tracking equipment status, coordinating maintenance, cleaning, certification, and ensuring asset data accuracy in internal systems.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with depots, suppliers, and logistics partners, resolving operational, service, or documentation issues as needed.
  • Execute SAP system activities including stock transport orders, inventory transactions, service entries, and invoice verification.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO quality processes and internal control requirements through accurate documentation, reporting, and audit ready records.
  • Participate in cross functional initiatives to improve export operations, depot processes, asset utilization, and overall supply chain performance.
  • Perform other responsibilities or project support as assigned.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret inventory, rail, and vendor performance data.
  • Clear and effective communication skills for coordinating with manufacturing, dispatch, rail providers, warehouses, and commercial teams.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment in a fast moving, operations focused environment.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills and commitment to data accuracy across SAP and internal tracking systems.
  • Proficiency with SAP (or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of rail logistics, warehouse processes, transportation coordination, and relevant DOT/rail regulations.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify service, cost, or process enhancement opportunities.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, export operations, depot management, or supply chain execution.
  • Experience working with carriers, depots, port service providers, or international freight partners in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • ERP/SAP experience with comfort managing inventory, shipment, and asset related system transactions.
  • Working knowledge of export compliance requirements and customs documentation.
