Job Summary
The Export Business Development Manager – Commodities is responsible for expanding the company’s international market presence by identifying new export opportunities, developing relationships with global buyers, and increasing export sales. The role involves market research, client acquisition, contract negotiation, and coordination with logistics and finance teams to ensure smooth export operations. The position plays a key role in strengthening the company’s global footprint in commodity trading.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Development
- Identify and develop new international markets for commodity exports.
- Conduct market research to analyze global demand, pricing trends, and competitors.
- Monitor global commodity price movements and emerging opportunities.
Business Development & Sales
- Identify potential international buyers, distributors, and trading partners.
- Develop strong relationships with overseas clients and maintain existing accounts.
- Achieve export sales targets and expand the international customer base.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and negotiate export contracts.
Export Operations
- Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure timely shipment of goods.
- Oversee preparation of export documentation such as Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, and Certificate of Origin.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
Networking & Partnerships
- Represent the company at international trade fairs, exhibitions, and business meetings.
- Build partnerships with global traders, distributors, and importers.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Track international commodity markets and provide regular market insights.
- Prepare export performance reports and business development strategies for management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Economics, Sales & Marketing or Supply Chain Management.
- Certification in Export Management or International Trade will be an advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in export sales, commodity trading, or international business development.
- Experience working with global buyers and international trade documentation.
