The Export Sales Engineer is responsible for developing international markets by selling technical products and solutions to overseas customers. This role combines engineering knowledge with sales expertise to identify customer needs, prepare technical proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure successful execution of export sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new international markets and customers
- Manage and grow relationships with overseas distributors, agents, and end users
- Understand customer technical requirements and recommend suitable products or solutions
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tenders
- Conduct product presentations and technical discussions with international clients
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, payment terms, and contracts
- Coordinate with engineering, production, logistics, and finance teams to fulfill orders
- Ensure compliance with export regulations, trade laws, and Incoterms
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback
- Participate in international trade shows, exhibitions, and customer visits
- Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and market analysis for management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or related field)
- 2–5+ years of experience in export sales, international business, or technical sales
