External Sales Engineer – Instrumentation

The External Sales Engineer is responsible for the continued growth, month on month, of YELMA business by selling key YELMA products, brands and solutions in line with divisional business plans and opportunity – based sales. Also, to deliver on Key Performance Indicators including agreed revenue and customer retention targets in line with the divisional and overall organisational business plans.

The External Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing the business with sound technical knowledge whilst at the same time effectively managing the targeted customer base and key accounts, and physically visiting customer sites to develop on-going, profitable relationships and continually maintain a professional YELMA image and presence. Continually looking for opportunities to sell/generate leads is key.

Key responsibilities

Major responsibilities of this position include but not limited to travelling/visiting customer/client sites, be the key techno-commercial point of contact, understanding technical challenges and providing applicable solutions, prospecting and consulting with new customers/clients.

Specific responsibilities:

· Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after-sales support services and technical back up to customers.

· Responsible to grow revenue and exceed sales targets, expand market reach and achieve new businesses in the assigned territory.

· Prepare technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers/clients showing the advantages of YELMA products v/s rival products.

· Review product specifications and select the product that best fits the customer requirements in terms of technical as well as cost perspectives.

· Assist with leading the internal and external proposals engineering team.

· Negotiate tender, contract terms, conditions and commercial terms to meet client/customer needs in the best interest of Company.

· Responsible to know, develop and understand all products under portfolio, and pricing structure.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers and successfully lead, guide and train an enthusiastic technical sales team.

· Meeting regular sales targets.

· Support marketing team in contributing inputs towards developing marketing strategy by monitoring competitors and products and also latest industry/market trends.

· Lead product approval and specification process among various consultants and clients.

· Act as a YELMA contact and presence for the company and its existing and potential markets.

· Participates in YELMA events such as Trade Shows and Exhibitions.

· Always maintain professionalism, integrity, tact, diplomacy and sensitivity to reflect the YELMA ethos.

· As needed, participate in informational presentations such as seminars.

· Analyse data from ERP system and provide relevant accurate reports/updates to various areas of the business and senior management

Core Competencies:

· A minimum of 5 years’ progressive sales experience in a similar role with strong hands on technical ability ideally within the hazardous and Oil and Gas industries preferable

· 3 years’ experience in role of Field Sales in the Saudi Arabia.

· A sound Instrumentation products area industry experience essential with process automation and an instrumentation background would be considered an advantage.

· Technical degree preferred, or equivalent experience, ideally in Instrumentation.

· Able to effectively follow procedures.

· Proactive in answering telephone as a part of the team.

· Effectively prepare for meetings and/or presentations and provide relevant input

Valid Saudi driving license.
