In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring plastics extrusion machinery to produce high-quality plastic profiles and materials. Your expertise will ensure smooth production processes, adherence to safety standards, and consistent product quality. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor plastics extrusion equipment, ensuring optimal performance throughout the production cycle
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to verify product dimensions and tolerances
- Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot issues related to plastics extrusion processes and auxiliary equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on extrusion machinery.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and materials handling techniques to ensure efficient workflow within the warehouse environment
- Conduct visual inspections of finished products for defects or inconsistencies, maintaining high standards of quality assurance
- Document production data, machine performance, and quality checks accurately for reporting and continuous improvement initiatives based on lean manufacturing principles
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with plastics extrusion processes in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to manufacturing specifications
- Experience with quality inspection techniques using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring devices
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and warehouse operations is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail to ensure product quality and process efficiency
