Eyewear Consultant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Eyewear Consultant to join our vibrant optical team. In this role, you will be the face of our eyewear department, providing expert guidance and personalized service to help customers find the perfect eyewear solutions. Your energetic approach will ensure a memorable shopping experience, while your technical knowledge will support accurate fittings and product recommendations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine retail sales expertise with a passion for eye health and vision care.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, assess their eyewear needs, and recommend suitable frames, lenses, and accessories based on their preferences and prescriptions
• Assist with the fitting, adjustment, and measurement of eyewear to ensure optimal comfort and vision correction
• Educate customers on different lens options, coatings, and frame materials to enhance their understanding of product benefits
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of optical products, industry trends, and medical terminology related to vision care
• Process sales transactions accurately using retail systems such as Epic or EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
• Support inventory management by organizing stock, tracking product levels, and assisting with stock replenishment
• Collaborate with optometrists or ophthalmologists when necessary to ensure proper patient care and adherence to medical protocols

Requirements

• Previous retail sales experience, preferably in optical or healthcare-related environments
• Knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures for lens fitting and adjustments is a plus
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to handle patient information confidentially and securely
• Experience working with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms is preferred
• Strong communication skills to educate and engage diverse customer groups including pediatrics and senior care populations
• Ability to perform vital signs assessment when needed and demonstrate aseptic techniques during fittings or adjustments
• Basic knowledge of medical billing and coding processes related to optical services is advantageous

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
