Façade Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Façade Engineer to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for technical coordination, supervision, and quality control of all façade works for a high-rise tower project. This includes curtain walls, aluminum and glazing systems, cladding, louvers, canopies, stone façades, and other external envelope components. The role ensures compliance with technical specifications, project timelines, safety regulations, and required aesthetic standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical & Engineering

• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, structural calculations, and façade details.
• Evaluate façade designs and ensure compatibility with structural, architectural, and MEP interfaces.
• Coordinate engineering solutions for façade systems including aluminum, glass, GRC/GRP, ACP, steel supports, and stone cladding.
• Review and approve material submittals, method statements, mock-ups, and samples.

2. Site Execution & Supervision

• Monitor and supervise façade installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Ensure façade installations align with tolerances, waterproofing requirements, and sealing standards.
• Handle site inspections, snagging, and quality checks for façade works.
• Verify correct site measurements and manage as-built documentation.

3. Coordination

• Coordinate with subcontractors and façade suppliers on installation schedules, fabrication status, and technical issues.
• Liaise with the design team, consultants, and site management regarding façade details, approvals, and inspection requests.
• Attend progress, technical, and coordination meetings as required.

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure all façade materials and installations comply with UAE Fire & Life Safety Codes (e.g., NFPA, UAE Civil Defense).
• Conduct quality checks on waterproofing, thermal insulation, acoustic performance, and glass specifications.
• Oversee tests such as water penetration test, air infiltration test, and structural load test when required.

5. Planning & Documentation

• Update project schedules for façade activities and ensure timely delivery of materials and drawings.
• Maintain daily reports, progress tracking, quantity calculations, RFI logs, and inspection records.
• Support in preparing handover documentation and façade O&M manuals.

6. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and safe façade installation practices, especially at heights.
• Verify proper use of scaffolding, platforms, cradles, and lifting equipment during façade works.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Architectural Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of UAE experience in façade engineering, preferably on high-rise tower projects.
• Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems, aluminum & glazing, ACP, stone cladding, GRC, and steel support structures.
• Experience with façade engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, or specialized façade analysis tools).
• Understanding of thermal, structural, acoustic, and fire performance requirements of façade systems.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
