Core responsibilities
- Fabrication and assembly: Cutting, welding, and assembling Aluminum extruded pieces based on engineering drawings and specifications. This can include tasks like water jet cutting, adhesive bonding, punching, cutting, machining and using various tools and equipment.
- Quality control: Inspecting finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from defects.
- Technical interpretation: Reading and understanding technical drawings, blueprints, and designs to create fabrication plans and ensure the final product matches the design.
- Material handling: Receiving, handling, and preparing Aluminum materials for fabrication.
- Installation: In some cases, the job may include the installation of the finished products at the customer's site.
Key skills and qualifications
- Technical skills: Proficiency in operating fabrication equipment, hand tools, and welding equipment (especially MIG welding), lathe and milling
- Drawing and design: The ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications.
- Quality focus: A strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and safety practices.
- Physical and manual skills: Good manual dexterity and physical ability for tasks like measurement, cutting, and assembly.
- Teamwork: The ability to work effectively as part of a team, as many fabrication roles involve collaborative effort.
Educational qualifications: Graduate or Diploma with relevant manufacturing experience of 7 years minimum
Production/Manufacturing: Roles focused on planning and supervising daily production activities, managing shop floor teams, and implementing efficiency practices like Lean manufacturing.
Purchasing/Procurement: Positions that involve managing the supply chain, such as sourcing materials, evaluating vendors, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery.
