JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Fabrication Manager is to oversee general fabrication shop operation and maintenance; and to ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced according to established protocols.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced according to established protocols

Develop employee schedules to utilize time wisely and ensure orders are completed timely
-
Track and maintain inventory and submit required quarterly inventory reports
-
Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure that materials and equipment are accounted for to avoid loss, theft, waste or damage.

Responsible for the preparation, organization and maintenance of job files, records, OSHA records
-
Ensure jobs stay within projected bids to avoid overages in cost to the company.

Coordinate with production manager – Fabrication Supervisor

Ensure all incoming materials are off loaded properly according to Company safety policies and procedures

Ensure subordinates perform ongoing quality control inspections to detect fabrication errors/problems

Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or related industry environments.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in a production, fabrication, or warehouse operation.
- Demonstrated experience with fabrication equipment, production scheduling, quality control processes, and safety protocols.
Technical Skills
- Basic technology skills, including MS Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of:
- Fabrication techniques and materials
- Inventory and order-processing systems
- Project management workflows
- Internet, spreadsheet, and word-processing software
- Must have thorough knowledge of all available products used by the Company as they relate to product installation.
- CAD/CAM experience (preferred but not required).
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively develop and maintain professional working relationships with builders, vendors, subordinates, and co-workers.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making
- Ability to proactively identify, analyze, address, and resolve problems, conflicts, and issues.
- Displays willingness to make decisions.
- Exercises sound judgment; supports and explains reasoning; includes appropriate individuals in decision-making; and makes timely decisions.
Organizational Skills
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate tracking systems for all information associated with ordering, production, and inventory processes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Associate degree or trade/technical certification in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
Technical & Industry Skills
- CAD/CAM experience.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for inventory or production management.
- Strong working knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, and equipment.
Additional Skills
- Bilingual experience (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
