Fabrication Manager (Working Manager - Steel & Aluminum)

Position Summary
The Fabrication Manager is responsible for leading AeroGo's steel and aluminum fabrication operations while serving as the company's technical expert in welding and fabrication processes. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines management responsibilities with active participation in fabrication activities, process development, and manufacturing problem-solving. This position reports to the Director of Operations will supervise a team of 6+ Steel and Aluminum Fabricators.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fabrication work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
• Serve as AeroGo's subject matter expert for steel and aluminum fabrication and welding.
• Assign work and coach a high-performance team through clear and actionable feedback and training.
• Perform hands-on fabrication and welding work as needed, particularly on complex or critical projects.
• Review drawings and designs for manufacturability and fabrication efficiency.
• Develop fabrication standards, welding procedures, and best practices.
• Support weld qualification testing and fabrication skill development.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to fabrication issues.
• Work closely with Production Planning to establish fabrication priorities and schedules.
• Drive Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives within fabrication.
• Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote a positive work environment by modeling AeroGo core values.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• 7+ years of steel and aluminum fabrication experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in MIG and TIG welding of steel and aluminum.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of fabrication methods, fixturing, weld distortion control, and manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive accountability.
• AWS welding certifications.
• Experience in custom manufacturing or engineered-to-order products.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively across departments while building trusting relationships and positively influencing others.

Compensation & Benefits

This is salaried, exempt position with starting pay range of $90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Also required is the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary. Must be able to walk extended distances over uneven ground while wearing proper PPE.
