Fabrication Shop Supervisor

Shop Supervisor Position Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to lead daily operations in our fabrication and machining shop. This role combines hands-on technical work with team leadership, scheduling, quality oversight, and coordination with management. The ideal candidate is organized, steady under pressure, and committed to maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive shop environment.

Shop Supervisor Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day shop operations, workflow, and job scheduling
• Assign tasks to machinists, welders, and fabricators based on skill and project needs
• Ensure jobs are completed accurately, safely, and on time
• Review drawings, verify dimensions, and maintain quality standards
• Train, mentor, and support team members
• Coordinate with management on project timelines, materials, and priorities
• Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and equipment readiness
• Troubleshoot issues on the floor and assist with hands-on machining or fabrication as needed
• Monitor safety practices and enforce company policies

Shop Supervisor Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in machining, fabrication, or related shop environment
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and prints
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities

Shop Supervisor Schedule: (Candidate should be consistently reliable and timely)

• Shift: Day shift
• Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
• Overtime: Extended Start/End Times/Occasional Saturdays
• Weekly Hours: Expect 40-46 hours per week
