Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication processes.
- Operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, and machinery such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to shape sheet metal and other materials.
- Perform welding tasks using MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <LOCATION> welding techniques to join metal components securely.
- Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and schematics to ensure accurate dimensions and quality standards are met during fabrication.
- Conduct rigging, pipe threading, assembly, and ductwork installation with mechanical knowledge and adherence to ASME codes & standards.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely for moving raw materials or finished products within the manufacturing environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; perform routine inspections of tools and equipment for proper functioning.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures in industrial environments.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, plasma cutting, soldering, and <LOCATION> welding techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately for precise fabrication work.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and press brake machines for shaping metal components.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including ductwork manufacturing and assembly.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in rigging, pipe threading, machining, and the operation of manufacturing equipment.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations related to fabrication tolerances, and project specifications.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to metal fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Strong understanding of construction principles related to site work involving steel structures or duct systems.
