As a Custom Fabrication Welder, you will be responsible for interpreting and working from blueprints to fabricate and weld high-quality pressure vessels (tanks). The ideal candidate will bring a strong work ethic, advanced welding skills (MIG/TIG/FCAW), and a commitment to excellence in every project.
Position Details:
- Shift: 1st Shift (6:30 AM – 2:30 PM) (Monday - Friday)
- Job Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: Pay is determined by experience, welding expertise, and fabrication capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently build pressure vessel tanks from start to finish while coordinating with Layout, Team-Lead, and QC to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, drawings, and specifications to fabricate ASME Code pressure vessels.
- Perform high-quality welding (MIG / TIG / FCAW) and metal fabrication tasks, ensuring precision and safety.
- Assemble and fit materials to create custom pressure vessels, ensuring adherence to client specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with other skilled tradesmen to meet production goals and quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading.
- Proficiency in (MIG / TIG / FCAW) welding techniques.
- Ability to pass ½” carbon steel flat plate flux core test.
- Ability to pass ½” stainless steel flat plate flux core test.
- Ability to pass 6” carbon steel SCH 40 6G pipe test with TIG root and FCAW fill and cap.
- X-ray quality welding skills that meet Buckeye’s and ASME quality requirements.
- Proficient use and understanding of common hand tools (tape measure, pneumatic grinders, combo squares, hammers, etc.).
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Weld Test Requirement:
As part of the interview process, all candidates will be required to complete a weld test. Please bring your welding hood and steel-toed boots as you will be expected to weld during the test. Only candidates who pass the weld test will be considered for hire.
