Fabrication Welder (Time Served)

Acer Engineering is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our production team. This is a full-time, permanent role based at our workshop in Widnes, with occasional site work.

We’re looking for a skilled professional with a minimum of 3 years’ time-served experience who can work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Fabricate secondary steelwork (e.g., ladders, platforms, staircases)
• Perform MIG welding (essential); TIG and MMA experience is a plus
• Work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
• Maintain high standards of safety and quality

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in MIG welding (required)
• Strong fabrication skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Driving licence (preferred)

• Competitive hourly rate: £18.15/hour
• Overtime available:
• Saturdays: £24.14/hour (Time + ⅓)
• Sundays: £30.13/hour (Time + ⅔)
• Hours: Mon–Thu: 07:15–16:15 / Fri: 07:15–12:15
