This intermediate Fabricator and Assembler role is part of the Machine Lab team, which designs and builds custom automated equipment for internal use. You’ll use your welding and fabrication skills on a wide range of projects—from small fixtures to complex machine assemblies—supporting production tooling, R&D, and equipment builds. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work closely with Engineers, Production Supervisors, and Tool & Die Makers to bring ideas to life. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and contributing to innovative manufacturing solutions.

Hours: Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm


What You’ll Do

  • Fabricate Steel and Stainless structures using welding, cutting, and fabricating techniques. Projects are one-off or low volume.
  • Work with production departments to get items sourced from activities such as plasma, shear, press brake, and tool and die.
  • Complete mechanical assembly of machines and tooling.
  • Operate shear, press brake, hydraulic punch, plate roller, horizontal and vertical bandsaws, cut-off saws, grinders, and miscellaneous hand tools in order to complete tooling and machines for production.
  • Leverage expertise to support R&D efforts by building prototypes and test set-ups.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in weldments
  • Must be able to read structural and assembly blueprints and read and follow Engineering design documents and instructions
  • Expert MIG Welding skills: out of position, without fixturing, on mild steel and stainless steel
  • Expert TIG Welding skills: out of position, without fixturing, fusion, hand wire feed, and auto wire feeder, on mild steel and stainless steel
  • Strong forming skills: use of hand bender, hand sheet bender, press break, and pinch roll forming.
  • Basic machining skills: use of vertical milling machine (drilling, tapping, hole pattern layout), magnetic base drill press, hand tapping

Base Compensation Range: $28.00-$39.18 per hour. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. Our salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance.
