Job Overview

RDF&P is a fast-paced, team-driven custom metal fabrication shop looking for a skilled Fabricator / Welder / Fitter to join our Forest Grove team.

We work on a wide range of projects—from structural pedestals for the semiconductor industry to handrails for local colleges and custom steel fabrication.

This role requires someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and takes pride in doing quality work. You’ll be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding metal components to meet project specifications, safety standards, and production timelines.

Our interview process includes a weld test. Please bring any personal PPE or tools you prefer to use.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specs
• Perform FCAW welding to AWS D1.1 standards (or as required)
• Fabricate and fit metal components including plate, structural steel, and tubing
• Cut, shape, and assemble parts using hand and power tools
• Measure accurately using calipers, micrometers, and other tools
• Execute fitting, rigging, assembly, and mechanical tasks per project requirements
• Operate forklifts and shop equipment safely
• Follow all safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and shop standards

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fabrication, welding, and fitting
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
• Experience with FCAW, MIG, and TIG welding
• Ability to meet AWS D1.1 or similar welding standards
• Familiarity with shop tools, plasma cutters, and fabrication equipment
• Basic math skills for measuring and material layout
• Strong attention to detail and quality

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Standing for extended periods
• Bending, crouching, and working around large steel components

Preferred Experience

• Construction or manufacturing shop experience
• Knowledge of rigging and material handling
• Experience working to AWS D1.1 and/or ASME standards preferred

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• Shop hours vary based on workload
• Overtime and weekend work may be required

Pay: $19.00 - $35.00 per hour
