Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fabricator/Shop Supervisor to oversee fabrication operations and lead a team on construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, fabrication skills, and leadership abilities to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and according to specifications. This role involves hands-on fabrication work, blueprint reading, and coordinating team activities within a dynamic construction environment.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise fabrication activities on-site and in the shop, ensuring adherence to project timelines and safety standards.
  • Operate and oversee various power tools, welding equipment (MIG, TIG, FCAW), plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication machinery.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate components such as ductwork, sheet metal parts, piping, and assemblies.
  • Perform welding tasks using <LOCATION> welding techniques while adhering to ASME codes & standards.
  • Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other hand tools; perform pipe threading and assembly tasks.
  • Manage rigging, crane operations, forklift handling, machining, soldering, and plasma cutting as required for project completion.
  • Ensure quality control by inspecting fabricated parts for accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to plan daily activities; assign tasks effectively.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety checks.
  • Assist in training junior team members in fabrication techniques and equipment operation.

Skills

  • Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding techniques.
  • Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, press brake machines, plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment.
  • Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math calculations for fabrication accuracy.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, ductwork manufacturing, pipe threading, assembly processes.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with rigging operations and material handling equipment such as forklifts.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to welding and fabrication projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings effectively. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.01 - $38.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
