Job Description:

This role is to work as a fabricator/welder within our factory – manufacturing and repairing steel products such as heavy duty loading ramps, access platforms and a variety of accessories, providing entry and exit to vehicles, warehouses and containers etc.

Duties will include:

• Fabricating sub-assemblies for the above equipment either as small batch work or individual bespoke items.
• Fabricating finished items from steel sections and sub-assemblies.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Measuring and marking out steel sections.
• Cutting, shaping and drilling of steel sections.
• Repair and reconditioning of completed fabrications as required.
• Maintaining a record of all work undertaken.
• Undertaking all work in a conscientious and safe manner.

You will enhance an existing team of fabricator-welders, and site-work engineers.

You will be based at our Chesterfield factory.

You must have a background in fabrication and welding.

The ability to understand technical drawings, work to quality processes, and an understanding of Health and Safety practices is critical.

Contract hours are Mon-Thu, 07.00 – 16.00, Fri 07.00 – 13:30

Whilst not a prime function of the role, the job will also come with the opportunity to become one of our on-site engineers – to occasionally attend our customers sites and perform servicing, inspection, repair and installation of the above-mentioned equipment.

If you were to progress to perform the site-work, flexibility is required, and there is scope for overtime to be worked depending on demand. There will also be the need for some overnight stays to be performed as part of the role (hotels will be arranged in advance, and food/drink allowance to be paid in the event of overnight stays).

Pay: £17.33-£18.83 per hour
