Facilities Engineer - Nigeria

Location: Nigeria


Role Purpose: The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of oil and gas production facilities, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards


Accountabilities

Design and Development

• Lead the design and engineering of surface facilities, including pipelines, storage tanks, compressors, separators, and utility systems.

•Develop detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications in alignment with project goals.

• Conduct feasibility studies and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to support project decision making.


Project Management

•Plan, coordinate, and manage facility construction and upgrade projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

• Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.

• Prepare and monitor project schedules, cost estimates, and procurement plans.


Operations and Maintenance

• Provide technical support to field operations for troubleshooting and optimizing facility performance.

• Develop and implement maintenance plans to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.

•Monitor equipment performance metrics and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.


Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

• Ensure that all facilities comply with corporate and regulatory HSE standards.

• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analysis, and safety audits for projects and ongoing operations.

• Develop emergency response plans and ensure readiness for unplanned events.


Regulatory Compliance

•Stay updated on local and international industry regulations and standards.

•Prepare and submit technical documentation for regulatory approvals.

•Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure facility permits are obtained and renewed as required.


Innovation and Continuous Improvement

•Identify opportunities for implementing new technologies and practices to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

•Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in facilities engineering.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering.

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in facilities engineering within the oil and gas industry.

• Professional certification (e.g., COREN, NSE, or international equivalents such as PMP, API, or

ASME certifications) is preferred.

• Prior experience in an E&P operator, JV, IOC, or major oilfield service company.
