    Job Title:
    Facilities Foreman Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

    Reports to: Facilities Supervisors Pay Grade: M6 ($21.63 - $29.55)

    Dept./School: Maintenance and Facilities Date/Dates: 260 (2025 - 2026 School Year)

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    Direct, coordinate, and monitor maintenance activities for all district facilities. Supervise, assign, inspect, and evaluate the work of assigned staff, provide technical work direction to site-based staff, and monitor, inspect, and review work performed by contractors.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Certification:
    High School Diploma or GED
    Valid Texas Driver’s License

    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    Knowledge of all skills and trades needed to maintain buildings
    Knowledge in using and maintaining hand and power tools
    Knowledge in aspects of asbestos abatement
    Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate diverse personnel
    Effective planning and organizational skills
    Must possess computer skills to include email, spreadsheets, and operating multiple software programs
    Strong skills in organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

    Experience:
    Five years experience in related maintenance and facilities fields

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    • Responsible for issuing work assignments to all personnel assigned to them.
    • Assist with inspections of all buildings, materials and equipment to determine district needs with regard to emergencies, daily needs, and long-range planning.
    • Assists with the implementation of services in area of responsibility.
    • Prepares reports and maintains complete and accurate records as required by the administration.
    • Assists in preparing cost analysis regarding district needs.
    • Responsible for assisting with planning of daily assignments to ensure maximum productivity.
    • Responsible for the proper and efficient use of all district equipment, tools, supplies, and materials.
    • Works harmoniously with all school and contracted service personnel.
    • Responsible for managing and completing work orders for themselves and assigned employees within an electronic system.
    • Must be able to communicate with vendors and contractors in order to requests quotes and or schedule work.
    • Attends meetings to explain departmental procedures and programs; maintains good relationships with staff, campus and department administration, and other stakeholders.
    • Assures completion of assigned maintenance and repair tasks by monitoring work progress.
    • Responsible for reporting all necessary repairs of maintenance vehicles to the mechanic.
    • Responsible for being punctual in arriving at work and in performing all work in a good workmanship-like manner.
    • Responsible for being on call during non-working hours for maintenance emergencies.
    • Makes a continuous effort to achieve improvements for self and subordinates.
    • Promote continuous improvement philosophy for all employees.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
    • Assist with project management to include scheduling, assigning resources, and meeting deadlines for district projects.



    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Supervise the activities of the department in accordance with the district’s policies and operations. Work with supervisor to evaluate the work of assigned employees.

    Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
    Frequent district wide travel; occasional irregular hours; strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying; work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders.
